Plain cell
A plain cell scores the tile placed on it at its face value, with no bonus and no penalty. The word through it is scored by whatever premium squares the rest of the word crosses.
The seed word, the word already on the board when a round starts, always sits on plain cells.
How much of a board is plain
- Easy: about 86% of cells are plain.
- Medium: about 83% of cells are plain.
- Hard: about 79% of cells are plain.
- Brutal: about 75% of cells are plain.
